SICILIAN CUISINE
Sicilian cuisine is simple yet complicated, reflective of the island's rich, diverse past.
Much of the island's cuisine is based on the use of fresh vegetables such as eggplants, peppers and tomatoes and fish such as tuna, sea bream, sea bass, cuttlefish and swordfish. Some of the best known foods are Sicilian cassata, iris, Sicilian cannolo, granita and arancine.
