Bardolino
Surrounded by vineyards planted on sun-kissed morainic hills, this small town offers the best in terms of Italian lake life and enogastronomic tourism. Before being annexed to the Kingdom of Italy in 1866, the town had had a tumultuous history: there had been barbarian invasions and later different rulers had taken control of the town.

Malcesine
Malcesine is perched on the lake. At its top there is a castle that dates back to the 13th century. The landscape is superb because the opposite shore of the lake is even steeper, and in this northern segment, mountains rise on all sides. You can tour the castle and the museum it houses.

Arco
In Arco there are the ruins of a hilltop castle, several beautiful churches and palaces, and a small botanical garden. The town has a very Tyrolean feel to it. It is interesting to note that the Habsburg Court used to spend the summers here when this part of Italy was under the rule of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
