  • Castello Soave

The castle of Soave is one of the Scaliger castles in the province of Verona. Typical medieval fortress, it is built on Mount Tenda in order to dominate the plain below. It consists of a keep and three courtyards.

  • Castello del Catajo

The Castle of Catajo is located in Battaglia Terme, in the province of Padua and is a monumental fortification and at the same time a noble residence. The castle, known as the palace of the Euganean Hills, was built with the intention of serving as a military castle and princely villa in the sixteenth century by the Obizzi family. Get ready to enjoy precious frescoes, a park of redwoods and magnolias (the garden of the giants) and a wonderful view of the Euganean Hills.

  • Castello di Marostica

In Marostica, in the province of Vicenza, there are two fortresses: the Upper Castle, famous for its beautiful courtyard with a well, and the Lower Castle, joined by a wall almost 2 kilometers long. The Lower Castle built close to an imposing Mastio is one of the most beautiful castles in Veneto

  • Bellaguardia Castle

The Castello della Bellaguardia in Montecchio Maggiore is located in the province of Vicenza, not far from another beautiful castle, the Castello della Villa, both in a panoramic position overlooking the village.

  • Castles of Romeo and Juliet

The Castle of Romeo and Juliet's Castle, close and opposite, are, according to legend, the castles that inspired Luigi da Porto to write his Historia novellamente ritrovata, at the base of “Romeo and Juliet" by Shakespeare. The view from the two castles is spectacular and sweeps, on clear days, to the Dolomites.

  • Montagnana Castle

On the border between Vicenza and Verona, Montagnana is a fortified military town that keeps intact its 2 km city walls, towers and the typical pentagonal plan. The Castle of San Zeno is welded to the walls and is incredibly well preserved.

  • Castel Brando

It is one of the oldest castles in Europe (980 year of construction began) and with its particular position dominates the Prosecco Hills. Inside it houses a 4-star hotel, restaurants, SPA, and conference room but you can take a guided tour of the structure that I highly recommend. The place is really enchanted and the view extraordinary.

  • Castelvecchio

The symbol of medieval Verona is the Scaliger castle, better known as Castelvecchio. It is the typical castle-fortress built with defensive function and characterized by an austere appearance, with walls and crenellated towers. It was erected in the first half of the fourteenth century and restored in the mid-twentieth century, Castelvecchio is now home to the Civic Museum of Verona. Inside you can admire more than 600 works of art from the medieval, Renaissance and modern periods, up to the eighteenth century.

  • Castle of Andraz

The castle of Andraz is an ancient manor, of the original castle only the ruins remain. You can still visit it in summer enjoying the wonderful landscape and the museum itinerary that brings us back to the heart of castle life.

  • Castle of Carrarese d'Este

The Castle of Carrarese d'Este is surrounded by a thick wall that today delimits the public garden of the city. Still visible are the characteristics that have made this fortress an imposing war machine in the defense of the Este lordship.

  • Malcesine Castle

The Scaliger Castle of Malcesine is located on the northeastern shore of Lake Garda and is perhaps the most famous and visited Venetian castle. It owes its fame in part to the drawings and descriptions of the German poet Goethe that appeared in his famous Journey to Italy. Inside it is housed the Museum of Fishing, Lake Activities, and "Venetian Galere".

  • Cini Castle

There are four main nuclei of this castle, built between the eleventh and sixteenth centuries. The Romanesque House and the Castelletto form the oldest one, followed by the defensive tower commissioned by Ezzelino da Romano. Palazzo Marcello is the third nucleus that was created to connect the existing structures and the last is the Ca' Marcello Library. The Council Room, Jacopino's Room, Petrarch's Studiolo, the Armoury and the rooms of Ca' Marcello that evoke the evocative atmosphere of past centuries are certainly worth a visit.
