DOLOMITES VINEYARDS

The IGT title is named after the Dolomite Mountains which dominate a majority of the topography here. Vineyards are found scattered amongst the peaks and valleys of the foothills at altitude which create cool nighttime temperatures and warm, sunny days.

The denomination Vigneti delle Dolomiti or Weinberg Dolomiten IGT represents one of the most important wine-producing areas of the Trentino-Alto Adige region. The name Vigneti delle Dolomiti or Weinberg Dolomiten IGT includes the provinces of Bolzano, Trento, and Belluno and was created in 1997.

Vineyards are found scattered amongst the peaks and valleys of the foothills at altitude which create cool nighttime temperatures and warm, sunny days.  The peculiarities of the area are the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, gentle hills covered with expanses of vines from which the most famous bubbles in Italy are produced.

UNESCO has included them in the list of World Heritage Sites.
