Lagoni di Mercurago
The park, 473 hectares wide, stretches near the southern coast of Lake Maggiore. It is a large “green lung” consisting of woods, meadows and pasturelands. It is a characteristic habitat with wide calm pools and small silent marshes. The origin of the place dates back to the end of the latest glaciations, when some source came to the surface amongst the ancient deposits of boulder clay, typical of the area, generating the attractive "Lagoni".
