The Sacro Monte of the Holy Trinity at Ghiffa
Standing at the foot of Mount Carciago on Lake Maggiore, it is an unfinished Baroque complex inspired by the ideas of San Carlo Borromeo and by the architectural models of the Sacri Monti of Orta and Varese. It is made up of a church, three chapels and the arcades of the Stations of the Cross. The whole complex is surrounded by about 200 hectares of woodland, which are part of a Nature Reserve.
