It is a concentration of beauty, from Sanremo to the Riviera dei Fiori, the alleys and the Aquarium in Genoa, the villages of the Cinque Terre, the beaches of the Gulf of Poets, and the island of Palmaria, a UNESCO World Heritage  Site.

Liguria is unique for its seaside villages that characterize the eastern and western coasts, including enchanting bays such as Portofino and the Cinque Terre and large cities such as Genoa, an ancient and glorious Maritime Republic. Very few other lands can boast the Alps and the Apennines together, so close to each other as in Liguria.  To the west are the Maritime Alps, with their steep slopes, rough and adventurous landscapes, furrowed by rivers, and fast waterfalls that flow across those borders between Italy and France destined to extend towards the sea.
